- We are having very good talks (with the Russians and the Ukrainian leadership – ed.), very constructive talks on Ukraine - said Donald Trump.

He responded this way to a question from a Polish Radio correspondent about whether he would tell Vladimir Putin to get out of southern Ukraine.

Trump once again highlighted the scale of human losses and destruction, calling the conflict a "slaughter."

- When you hear the real numbers in Ukraine, what, what numbers, and that's not including the destroyed cities and all the people killed. That's why I want it to stop - said the American president. However, he did not provide any additional details.

Trump demands access to Ukrainian rare earth metals

U.S. President Donald Trump suggested on Monday at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time that he is demanding from Ukraine to secure the U.S. access to rare earth metals in exchange for further military assistance.

- We're telling Ukraine they have very valuable rare earths. We're looking to do a deal with Ukraine where they're going to secure what we're giving them with their rare earths and other things - said Donald Trump during the signing of orders, including the establishment of a national wealth fund.

I want security of the rare earth, and they’re willing to do it - he added.

United States President Donald Trump announced talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday. He stated that both "will do something significant." However, details were not provided. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov assured the readiness of the Russians.
