Trump questions Biden's lack of self-pardon amid controversies
In his first interview after taking office, Donald Trump expressed surprise that Joe Biden did not pardon himself. "If you look at it, it all had to do with him," said the President of the USA.
A Fox News journalist asked Trump about Joe Biden's decision regarding pardons for some members of his family and Trump's political opponents. He reminded everyone that during the previous election campaign, Biden said he would never preemptively pardon anyone.
"I was given the option. They said sir, would you like to pardon everybody, including yourself? I’m not going to pardon anybody. We didn’t do anything wrong," explained Donald Trump.
Additionally, the President of the USA expressed his surprise that Biden did not pardon himself, suggesting that he might need it because everything "had to do with him."
"This guy went around giving everybody pardons, and you know, the funny thing, maybe the sad thing, is he didn't give himself a pardon. If you look at it, it all had to do with him," said Donald Trump.
Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that during Biden's administration, the Department of Justice was used against him and other Republicans because he was charged in four different cases.
In the final hours of his presidency, Joe Biden preemptively pardoned five members of his family. In a White House statement, he explained that he did so in response to attacks on his relatives by President Donald Trump and his circle.
