The "Pilsan" factory manufactures, among other things, toy fire trucks. The fire's cause has not yet been determined, but it quickly spread from the production area to the administrative offices of the plant.

The facility stored large quantities of plastics, leading to the formation of a dense, black smoke cloud visible from many kilometres away.

"Bild" reports that firefighters from nearby provinces and from Istanbul, several hundred kilometres away, were called to the scene. The firefighting operation lasted almost six hours.

Firefighters had to contend with the intense blaze, which in some areas caused the factory's roof to collapse. An additional threat was posed by exploding batteries found in the toys.

Turkey. Damage on a massive scale

The fire completely destroyed the warehouse and production parts of the factory. Losses are estimated to reach millions of Turkish lira. According to initial reports, no one was killed in the fire, although factory workers witnessed dramatic scenes.

Firefighters and rescue services, despite extinguishing the main flames, continue to monitor the smouldering area. Observation and cooling of the fire site continued into the late evening to prevent the fire from reigniting.

Local authorities and factory management have announced a detailed investigation to determine the causes of the incident.
