Terrifier series: Indie horror hits big with third film release
The horror film series Terrifier is an example of how you can still achieve the American dream in the USA. The first two parts of the horror series were amateur productions made by young people, which made the creators a lot of money and enabled them to make more professional films.

The third part of the bloody horror series will be released in theatres on October 11. The film's budget was 2 million dollars. Compared to Hollywood standards, this is a laughable amount of money, but let's add that the first part of "Terrifier," which premiered in 2016, cost just a few thousand dollars. It was made with the creators' own savings by amateurs and film enthusiasts. The horror film was shown at many independent film festivals. Investors were also found. The second part of the film already cost as much as 250 thousand dollars.
In 2022, "Terrifier 2" was released theatrically in the United States and caused quite a stir in cinemas. As critics wrote, "It literally makes your stomach turn." Many viewers were unable to watch the horror film until the end and left the theatre before the screening was over. Some only had enough strength to escape to the theatre lobby, where they collapsed half-conscious onto a chair. Social media accounts indicated that in some cases, theatre staff had to call emergency medical services.
Such situations obviously were not able to discourage viewers from watching the film. On the contrary, they served as excellent and effective advertising. The horror film earned 15.5 million dollars (21.5 million Canadian dollars) in American theatres. This way, the clown Art has already entered the pantheon of pop culture villains.
Who is the clown Art?
What sets Art apart is that he is a... mime. He doesn't make a sound – not even when someone hits him. He constantly makes different faces and teases his victims, which may surprise viewers with its relative simplicity. But that's only until he starts killing, at which point he transforms into a true beast. The human body becomes a field for shocking experiments.
Although the film will debut in October, it fits into the Christmas mood like the previous part. "Art the Clown is back and set to unleash another round of chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve," reads the film's description.
