- A war between Israel and Iran must be seen as a high possibility, said Minister Fidan on television. He emphasized that Turkey does not support any conflict with Iran that could escalate into war.
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi will visit Turkey, Jordan, and Egypt in the coming days to discuss stopping military actions in the Gaza Strip, reported the "Daily Sabah" portal.
Israeli actions against Hamas
The Israeli armed forces announced on Thursday the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in the Gaza Strip. Iran, an ally of the Palestinian Hamas, stated that, because of Sinwar's death, "the spirit of resistance will be strengthened" in the struggle for the liberation of occupied territories.
Sinwar was elected as the leader of Hamas on August 6th after the death of the previous leader, Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed on July 31st in an attack in Tehran attributed to Israel.
Iran's response to Israeli actions
On October 1st, Iran launched a barrage on Israel, firing approximately 200 rockets. This attack was in retaliation for the previous killings of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders by Israel.
"He (Sinwar) will become a model for the youth and children who will carry forward his path toward the liberation of Palestine. As long as occupation and aggression exist, resistance will endure, for the martyr remains alive and a source of inspiration," stated Iran's delegation to the UN in New York.
