Taste of summer: How bumble coffee is turning heads

Bumble coffee, or orange americano, is black coffee with orange juice. Before you think this combination is absurd, sit down, read, and, most importantly, try it. Iced black coffee combined with freshly squeezed orange juice gives a fantastic effect.

Drinking coffee with orange juice is common in many places worldwide, not only in Europe but also in Thailand and Vietnam (hence one of the names for this drink - Good Morning Vietnam). Due to the specific layers created by the coffee and orange juice, you will also find this drink referred to as sunrise espresso. Most commonly, however, it’s just called orange americano or orange espresso.

As the name suggests, we’re dealing with orange juice and coffee here - black, potent, and often a double espresso. It’s best when the coffee is enriched with the sweet and sour taste of freshly squeezed juice, which wonderfully complements the bitterness of the coffee. As for the proportions, it’s generally accepted that there is twice as much juice as coffee, but this is mostly a matter of taste.

Ingredients:

      
• 60 ml (2 fl oz) of cooled black coffee
• 100 ml (3.4 fl oz) of orange juice (preferably freshly squeezed)
• Ice cubes
• Orange slices

Preparation:

1. Pour the orange juice into a tall glass.
2. Then, fill the glass with ice.
3. Finally, top off the glass with black coffee. This will create attractive layers.
4. Place orange slices on top. Stir the drink before consuming.
