Suspect in Moscow bombing detained in Turkey: Officials
A suspect in the bombing in Moscow has been detained in Turkey, the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs reported. Alexander Bortnikov, the director of the Federal Security Service, previously confirmed that the man had fled to Turkey. This morning, a bomb exploded in a car carrying Russian officer Andrey Torgashov. Tragically, the military officer lost his feet.
The FSB director stated in the afternoon that the perpetrator of the attack fled to Turkey and "is currently staying there." Russian intelligence agencies are contacting their Turkish counterparts to detain and deport the suspect, he added.
Attack on a military officer in Russia
A few hours later, the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that the man suspected of carrying out the attack had been detained. He is Russian Yevgeny Serebryakov.
Ali Yerlikaya, the head of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs, stated that the man arrived from Moscow to Bodrum by plane at 4:40 AM ET. Importantly, the attack occurred around 1:30 AM ET, and Turkish authorities were alerted by the Russians around 5:00 AM ET.
The attack on Russian officer Andrey Torgashov took place in Moscow, in a parking lot on Sinyavinskaya Street. His wife was also in the car with him. Both were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. It is now known that the bomb exploded when Torgashov pressed the clutch pedal.
Lost his feet

The car belonged to Major Andrey Torgashov, deputy chief of the 89th Military Satellite Communications Centre. According to online posts, a homemade bomb was planted in the car.
