  • 4 cucumbers

  • 1 carrot
  • 1 onion

  • 250mL vinegar
  • 125g sugar
  • 20g salt
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 4-5 allspice berries

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the vegetables: wash the cucumbers and slice them thinly. Cut the peppers and carrots into strips. Finely chop the onion and chilli pepper.
  2. Prepare the marinade: combine vinegar, sugar, salt, mustard seeds, pepper, and allspice in a pot. Heat until the sugar and salt dissolve. Set aside to cool.
  3. Marinate the vegetables: transfer the vegetables to a large bowl. Pour the marinade over them and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (preferably overnight).
