The Netflix actor passed away after weeks of fighting illness

De la Torre revealed in June that he had been diagnosed with a "serious illness." Shortly afterward, he began treatment and withdrew from public life to focus on his health. His passing deeply affected many friends and colleagues.

Spanish actress Luisa Martín expressed her sorrow on Instagram, posting a photo of de la Torre. "I don’t think of you in the past, darling! I know you will continue to organize beautiful dinners for friends. Fly as high as you can," she wrote.

Spanish actress and singer Lolita Flores also offered her condolences, recalling the short time spent with de la Torre while working on the play "Salome." "You were 37. It pains me how unfair life can sometimes be," she added.

José de la Torre gained recognition for his role in the series "Toy Boy." It's a Spanish-language production that tells the story of an erotic dancer whose life dramatically changes when he wakes up one day next to the body of a burned man. De la Torre played Iván, the owner of the Inferno club where the main character performed.

José also appeared in other productions such as "Amar es para siempre," "Vis a Vis: El Oasis," and "Servir y proteger." He was also a model for well-known fashion and jewelry brands. On Instagram, he had over 400,000 followers who left numerous condolences under a post he published on June 3. "Our Father Jesus of Nazareth, whom you longed for so much, will embrace you in heaven. Rest in peace, where we will all meet you someday," wrote someone under the actor's last photos.
