In September 2023, the news of Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas's divorce shocked many. It was rumoured that Joe had initiated the breakup, pushing for the divorce. Their Instagram profiles shared a statement saying: "After four years of wonderful marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children."

The media often blamed Sophie for the marriage ending. Critics highlighted her age at marriage—23—and her party lifestyle as contributing factors. Now, the actress is addressing these painful narratives.

Sophie Turner talks about the divorce in "Vogue"

The "Game of Thrones" star gave a heartfelt interview discussing her divorce from Jonas. She revealed that the aftermath of the divorce announcement was among the toughest days of her life, at times doubting her ability to get through them.

- "There were some days that I didn’t know if I was going to make it. I would call my lawyer saying, ‘I can’t do this. I just can’t.’ I was just never strong enough to stand up for myself. And then, finally, after two weeks of me being in a rut, she reminded me that it was my children I was fighting for," admits Turner, the mother of two girls, 4-year-old Willa and 1-year-old Delphine

Recall the same day Turner and Jonas's divorce was made public, there were rumours of "suspicious behaviour" from Sophie captured on a home surveillance recording. Media outlets shared photos of Sophie enjoying time with friends. Now, she says, the divorce leak coincided with a two-week filming schedule that kept her away from her children, casting her in the unfair light of a neglectful mother. - It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother – mom guilt is so real, she shares.

- "I just kept having to say to myself, none of this is true. You are a good mom and you’ve never been a partier. It’s incredible how many people will form an opinion about you based on one picture. It’s unfathomable the amount of people that will just make s**t up and put it up based on a picture. A picture might tell a thousand words, but it’s not my story. It felt like I was watching a movie of my life that I hadn’t written, hadn’t produced, or starred in. It was shocking. I’m still in shock," Turner comments.

In the "Vogue" interview, she also praised Joe Jonas as a good father and expressed she harbored no ill feelings towards him. The couple had been navigating the complexity of custody arrangements, considering Turner's desire to live in the United Kingdom and Jonas's American background. - "Now that I’m back home, I’m actually the happiest I’ve been in a really long time. I’m starting over again, rediscovering what I like to do, who I like to be with," Sophie notes.

Additionally, she mentioned that she's exploring dating, something she didn't experience much before her marriage.
