Russian pilots to wear American helmets thanks to US donors
Russian helicopter pilots will soon receive American helmets. Russians living in the United States will provide these helmets. How they acquired such equipment remains unknown.
As reported by the Telegram channel "Wojewoda Wieszajet," Ukrainian pilots were observed flying with American HGU-56P helmets a year ago.
"It's a very good helmet. It's much better than our ZSh-7V since it's armoured," the channel's host wrote.
"My good friends, Russians from the USA, provided me with 10 such helmets at the beginning of the war," he emphasized.
The helmets will be given to Russian pilots
The channel's author modified the helmets to integrate them with Russian systems. To assist himself, he asked soldiers to retrieve equipment from Ukrainian pilots from helicopters that crashed in areas occupied by Russia.
"Wojewoda" noted that he intends to hand over the modified helmets to "our best pilots" of Ka-52 helicopters. He added that he does not plan to buy more because they are "very expensive."
