A Russian "Shahed" kamikaze drone attack on a multi-family building in Sumy resulted in injuries to nine people.

The explosion destroyed nine apartments and twelve balconies. Rescue services managed to save four people, including one child. A total of 118 people were evacuated.

The information about the incident was provided by the acting mayor, Artem Kobzar.

"Once again, a 'Shahed' strike on a multi-family building. Walls were destroyed. Ambulance and rescue services are working on-site," informed Kobzar.

"At the scene of the incident, rescuers quickly deployed mobile rescue equipment. Psychologists and doctors from the State Medical Rescue Service are on the scene," reports the State Emergency Service of Ukraine on Telegram.

The drone attack in Sumy is another incident involving the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the region. On January 27, a Russian drone attack damaged infrastructure in Sumy and a nearby village in the Sumy region.

Thursday marks the 1,071st day of Russia's war against Ukraine.
