Russian missile attack claims 20 lives in Ukraine, dozens injured
Ten people were killed in a Russian missile attack on Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to local authorities. Another five people were killed in Kyiv. Overall estimates from the Ministry of Internal Affairs speak of 20 fatalities.
In Kryvyi Rih, 10 people were killed and 31 were injured due to a missile attack conducted by the Russian army on Monday morning, said Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the city’s military administration. Kryvyi Rih, in central-eastern Ukraine, is the hometown of President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"Preliminarily, we have information of 10 dead and 31 injured. They are already in hospitals, of which 10 are in serious condition," Vilkul wrote on Telegram. All emergency, municipal, and medical services are working in the city.
On Monday, Russia conducted a massive missile attack on Ukraine, launching more than 40 missiles at several cities. In Kyiv, at least five deaths are known.

At least five people were killed in the massive Russian missile attack on Kyiv on Monday morning, according to Serhiy Popko, head of the military administration of the Ukrainian capital. There are also injured.
The Russian army attacked civilian infrastructure, including a children's medical facility in Kyiv. Missile debris fell in six districts of the capital, authorities reported.
The targets of the Russian attack included a children's hospital in the Ukrainian capital. Rescue operations are ongoing at the site. "Children may still be under the rubble," reported Nexta.
President Zelensky himself commented on the attack. "The target of Russia's attack is the children's hospital Okhmatdyt in Kyiv; people are under the rubble," he said.
"As a result of the Russian attack, a total of 20 people were killed, and about 50 were injured," the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported before noon Eastern Time.
