Russian forces intensify push as Ukrainian lines falter

Concerns are growing as reports from Ukraine indicate that Putin's forces are advancing on the front lines. Maksymilian Dura, writing for Defence24, forecasts that Russian forces will steadily push forward, gradually regaining territory previously taken by Ukrainian troops, progressing meter by meter.

The Russian army is intensifying its activities around Kursk, located in western Russia, aiming to push Ukrainians out before winter, according to the latest report from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Sooner or later, Ukrainian forces must retreat to new defensive lines, as assessed by Maksymilian Dura for Defence24. His analysis suggests that as soon as the fighting subsides, "the Russian steamroller slowly starts up, which unfortunately has already begun to roll near Kursk." In doing so, Russians are steadily reclaiming areas captured by Ukraine. "The Ukrainians will likely not be able to stop this process," it reads.

Advancements in the Donetsk region

Russian forces have also advanced in Toretsk in the Donetsk region; the city has already lost entire districts, reported Anastasia Bobovnikova, spokeswoman for the Luhansk Operational Group, on Ukrainian television on Tuesday.

Today, Ukraine’s DeepState project updated its map to reflect enemy advances in Toretsk, a reality confirmed by local sources. The spokeswoman explained that Russian forces are employing a strategy of heavy artillery, systematically destroying cities and entire districts. In Toretsk, she noted, not only are individual houses destroyed, but entire neighborhoods have been wiped out, leaving no place for civilians to take shelter as the enemy moves through and entrenches itself in these devastated areas.
