The Russian drone attack on Kyiv during the night from Wednesday to Thursday lasted many hours. In the morning, one of them hit the apartment building where the Estonian ambassador in Kyiv lives.
Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna assessed that the Estonian ambassador "was lucky not to be harmed."
- There were no casualties because no one was on the top floor - conveyed Ambassador Annely Kolk, who was assigned to the Ukrainian capital in the fall of last year.
The drone hit the top floor above the diplomat's residence. Firefighters extinguished the fire caused by the attack.
In Kyiv - as the ambassador admitted - "life goes on, cafes and restaurants are open, but Russian drones are targeting skyscrapers, apartment buildings, and structures."
As she emphasized, this is happening even though in October only on one night was no air raid alarm announced there.
- No one is safe in Ukraine until Russia stops its aggression. Ukraine needs more air defence to protect its residents. We must not get used to this - stated Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna.
