Russia signals possible end to war amid Trump claims
Russians are being prepared for the end of the war, according to YouTuber Vyacheslav Zauresky, who lives in Poland. In his video, he discusses how a Russian propaganda film aims to explain negotiations and a possible ceasefire to the public.
Since Donald Trump was inaugurated as President of the United States, there has been increasing talk about a ceasefire. The US leader claimed in a conversation with the media that Putin told him he wants to end the war. Meanwhile, if that weren't the case, Trump would certainly be aware of it. Russians and Americans have already met to begin peace talks, and a meeting between Trump and Putin in Saudi Arabia is approaching.
Vyacheslav Zauresky, a Russian currently living in Poland, keeps up with media and events in his home country. - Russians are preparing people for the end of the war. It's uncertain whether this will be seen as a victory or a defeat. Until now, soldiers have been told they must liberate Ukraine and fight to the end, with mentions of demilitarization and denazification. However, Ukraine continues to resist, and nobody wants to speak Russian - Zauresky notes in his film.
He added that in propaganda films shown on television, people often saw soldiers changing Ukrainian place names to Russian ones, as with Avdiivka. Russians typically heard that it's still insufficient.
This was visible every day. On February 23, on Defender of the Fatherland Day, a patriotic film was anticipated, but they received something entirely different. This signal, though perhaps indirect, seems to prepare for the end of the war - Zauresky explained.
The film features an elderly couple discussing the war. The man questioned the existence of Ukraine, noting that even capturing a small village takes months, making it unclear how long the conflict might endure. He mentioned nuclear missiles that could potentially end the war swiftly. Finally, scenes from the front were shown, portraying two soldiers under attack and their suffering and longing for family.
People, especially soldiers, believed it was made by Ukrainians, but that's false. The individuals in the film were identified as Russian actors. The creator of the film remains unknown, and if it's unknown, it was likely made by the authorities - added Zauresky.
