If you love Italian tiramisu as much as I do, I have something that will interest you. Discover the iconic dessert anew with an extraordinary addition. It's going to be a real hit!

The season for fresh fruits and vegetables means that our kitchen can be filled with many amazing recipes in various forms. This is also true with rhubarb, which you can now buy at any greengrocer or market. Therefore, creating something incredible from this seemingly unremarkable vegetable is a perfect time.

Although rhubarb is commonly classified as a vegetable, we often use it to create delicious desserts. This time will be no different. As it turns out, rhubarb can become an engaging, creative, and tasty addition to homemade tiramisu. How do you prepare it? I'll explain!

Ingredients:

Rhubarb mixture:

        
  • 500 grams of rhubarb,
  • 125 millilitres of sugar,
  • 50 millilitres of orange juice.

Cream:

        
  • 500 millilitres of 30% cream,
  • 250 grams of mascarpone,
  • 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar.

Additions:

        
  • 250 grams of ladyfingers,
  • 100 grams of grated white chocolate,
  • a fresh mint leaf for decoration.

Preparation method:

Step 1. Start by preparing the rhubarb mixture. Cut the rhubarb stalks into smaller pieces, then cook them in a pot on the stove with sugar and orange juice. This process takes about 15 minutes.

Step 2. Next, prepare the cream. Whip the well-chilled cream with powdered sugar. After a few moments, add the mascarpone to the bowl and continue to mix.

Step 3. When all the ingredients are ready, start assembling the dessert. Use a mould of dimensions 28 centimetres by 18 centimetres. Create the first layer of ladyfingers on the bottom of the mould. Spread some of the rhubarb mixture on the cookies, then add a layer of cream.

Step 4. Repeat the entire process until all the ingredients are used up. Place long pieces of rhubarb previously cooked with orange juice and sugar until they become perfectly soft on the final layer of cream.

Step 5. Finally, sprinkle the dessert with the white chocolate you grated on a small hole grater. Then, place the dessert in the refrigerator, where it should be set for at least 3 hours.

Step 6. Before serving, decorate the tiramisu with a fresh mint leaf. And that's it, enjoy!
