Putin claims quick peace possible if Western military aid stops
Vladimir Putin stated that the conflict in Ukraine could end within two months. According to him, this would require a cessation of military support from the West. The President of Russia claimed that if Ukraine had withdrawn troops from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the war would not have occurred.
Many reports delivered by Russian media and government representatives are likely not true. These reports may be part of an information campaign by the Russian Federation.
Vladimir Putin, the leader of Russia, expressed confidence during an interview with Russian state television that the war in Ukraine could end in two months. This, he states, depends on the lack of military aid for Kyiv from Western allies. Putin emphasized that Ukraine would struggle to survive without financial support and ammunition.
In this context, the Russian president commented on U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to suspend foreign aid programs for 90 days. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the freezing of almost all foreign aid programs. Despite this, the President of Ukraine assured that military aid from the U.S. had not been halted.
Putin expressed readiness to negotiate an end to the conflict but emphasized the lack of willingness from Kyiv to engage in talks without the participation of Volodymyr Zelensky. The Russian leader claims that the President of Ukraine is serving his term illegally and suggests that, according to the constitution, negotiations should be led by the chairman of the Ukrainian parliament, adds "Fakt".
Russia has made the war with Ukraine a tool to force the West to revise the European security system and the world order - argues Ukrainian politician Anton Gerashchenko on social media. - The only way to stop Russia’s war against Ukraine and achieve lasting peace is to make this war unprofitable and dangerous for the Russian political regime or to weaken Russia so much that it will be unable to wage war - he added.
In his statement, Putin also claimed that if Ukraine had withdrawn troops from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the war would not have occurred. During his election campaign, Donald Trump asserted that he could end the conflict in 24 hours. However, this did not happen. The British newspaper "The Independent" reports that the President of the United States has given himself time until spring. Simultaneously, Trump is said to have warned Putin about continuing attacks and assured that he could supply Ukraine with additional weapons.
