According to British media, Princess Anne's injuries were most likely caused by a strike from a horse's head or legs. As stated in the announcement, all of the princess's public engagements have been postponed due to the incident. "Her Royal Highness sends her apologies to any who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result," the spokesperson noted.

King Charles III was informed of the accident immediately. The 73-year-old Anne is expected to remain in the hospital for about a week. Specialists are closely monitoring her condition.
