  • Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday for his call to halt the supply of weapons used by Israel in the Gaza Strip. The Élysée Palace responded that France is ""Israel's unwavering friend," and Netanyahu's reaction was excessive.
  • At least 18 people were killed in an Israeli shelling of a mosque in the city of Deir al-Balah in the central part of the Gaza Strip, reported CNN on Sunday morning, citing Al-Aqsa Hospital, which is located near the mosque.
  • Argentina's Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the agreement for the United Kingdom to cede sovereignty over the Chagos Islands to Mauritius. The ministry assessed this as an "encouraging example" regarding the negotiations over the Falklands (Malvinas), over which Argentina fought a war with the British.

  • The death toll from Hurricane Helene, which struck the southeastern part of the United States last week, rose to 227 on Saturday Eastern Time, according to the AP agency.
  • At least five people were killed and 23 injured on Saturday in a bus accident carrying veterinary students near Colombia's capital, Bogotá, local authorities reported.
