The American agency, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, states that the issue affects 1,851 vehicles. Included in this are the 911, 718 Spyder RS, and 718 Cayman GT4 RS—all from the 2024 model year. This issue is specific to cars where the wheel is fastened with a single large nut, similar to those used in racing cars.
Currently, the campaign is focused on vehicles sold in the U.S. market. However, it's advisable to check if it affects your car if it was recently imported from the United States.
Porsche reported that nut cracking occurred in September and October of this year. The company is investigating the matter. It also advises owners of cars with this fastening system not to use their vehicles until the situation is resolved.
