Pentagon miscalculations to send CAD 2,7 billion more in weapons to Ukraine
As revealed by a U.S. government report on July 25, the Pentagon detected additional errors amounting to CAD 2,7 billion in its calculations regarding ammunition, rockets, and other equipment sent to Ukraine. As a result, additional weapons may be sent to Kyiv, which will certainly be useful on the front lines.

The United States Department of Defense stated that to calculate the billion-dollar equipment sent to Ukraine in 2023, it used the "replacement value" instead of the "depreciated value," which resulted in a miscalculation of CAD 8.5 billion, which was later used to send new aid. However, this is not the end of the United States' miscalculations.
Since then, $2 billion (CAD 2,7 billion) more in overstatements have been found, announced the Pentagon, as quoted by Reuters.
As a result, additional weapons worth $2 (CAD 2,7) billion may be sent to Ukraine, which is excellent news for the Ukrainian army.
The U.S. Government Accountability Office stated that the discrepancies in the report on the value of the aid provided are due to an unclear definition of value in the foreign aid act and a lack of specific valuation guidelines for the U.S. President's administration.
It is worth remembering that on July 3, the U.S. Department of Defense announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth $200 (CAD 270) million. The aid includes air defence interceptors, High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) ammunition, artillery shells, and other critical capabilities sourced from U.S. stocks.
Spain helped Ukraine. Details revealed
The United States has been helping Ukraine in its recent war against Russia. The Spanish Ministry of Defence boasted of training 5,000 Ukrainian soldiers and reported that another battery of the MIM-23 HAWK anti-aircraft and anti-missile system will achieve operational readiness in Ukraine in September.
The MIM-23 HAWK air defence system is a design introduced into U.S. Army service in 1960, which then quickly spread to other countries worldwide. Spain acquired its systems during the first modernization phase between 1979-1981 (Product Improvement Plan).
