Published were the prices of dishes and drinks available during the Olympic Games in Paris. Fans who were counting on being able to drink beer might be disappointed, as only non-alcoholic beverages will be available in the stadiums. Fast food and snacks will also be available. However, the prices might shock you.

Rugby sevens matches took place on Thursday at the Stade de France in Paris. Ticket holders thus had their first opportunity to familiarize themselves with the food and beverage prices that will be in effect during the Paris Olympics. Those hoping to enjoy a pint of beer will be disappointed, as none of the venues in the stadium serve alcoholic beverages.

This is in line with French law from 1991, which prohibits the sale of alcohol in stadiums, unless served with a meal. Only those in the exclusive VIP area can drink alcohol during the Olympic events.

According to the British newspaper "The Sun," fans can choose from a selection of non-alcoholic beverages. However, these are not cheap. It turns out that a 500 ml Kronenbourg non-alcoholic beer costs CAD 12, and a 400 ml Tourtel Twist 0% lemon beer is CAD 9.

Soda drinks like Fanta, Coca-Cola, Sprite in a 500 ml bottle cost CAD 7,50. Meanwhile, a 500 ml bottle of water costs CAD 5,35.

The most expensive dish at stalls outside the stadium is a cheeseburger, priced at CAD 17,50. Another option is hot dogs, costing CAD 14,25. Chicken sandwiches and ciabattas with mozzarella are slightly cheaper, priced at CAD 12,75. Egg muffins can be bought for CAD 12.

According to information provided in "The Sun," the menu outside Stade de France also includes snacks: popcorn (CAD 6,75), 40 g packages of chips (CAD 6) and fries, which cost CAD 5,25. Also, CAD 5,25 for a chocolate cookie.

Olympic Games in Paris

The Olympic Games in Paris will begin on Friday and will last until August 11. Hundreds of Canadian representatives will participate in the competitions. Athletes from 32 disciplines will compete for 329 sets of medals. The competitions will be held at 35 venues in 18 cities, with most events taking place in Paris and eight locations in the Paris metropolitan area.

Apart from the Paris region, events planned include soccer, handball, and basketball matches, as well as shooting and sailing competitions. The most distant location will be French Polynesia, where windsurfing events will occur.
