Nissan unveils fourth-generation Murano: A blend of style and tech
Anyone with even a slight interest in cars might recognize the Nissan Murano. It was one of the first large SUVs that focused not on practicality but on appearance and driving comfort. Nissan has unveiled the new Murano. What is it now?

This Japanese SUV is already the fourth generation, designed mainly for the North American market. It debuted as a model in 2003. It was the first SUV with a convertible body. The first two generations are almost identical, but the third significantly changed the car. It became somewhat larger but much more practical. Unfortunately, it disappeared from Europe.
The latest incarnation of the Murano also won't appear in Europe, partially due to its drivetrain. It's a 2.0-litre turbo gasoline engine with 240 horsepower that powers all four wheels, although the base version only powers the front axle.
The car has grown compared to its predecessor, but the biggest change is the new design language, consistent with the electric Ariya. The same can be said for the cockpit – there's a greater resemblance here. The simple dashboard features two 12.3-inch screens that haven't dominated the interior with their presence. However, the equipment in the new Murano is something to be proud of, especially in autonomous driving.
The expanded Nissan Safety Shield 360 system is standard and includes additional functions. The car can be equipped with ProPILOT Assist, which combines intelligent cruise control with lane-keeping assistance, providing almost autonomous highway driving. In the SV and Platinum versions, ProPILOT Assist 1.1 also uses navigational data to adjust speed before curves proactively based on planned route information.
As befits a car premiere on the North American market, towing capabilities have not been forgotten, even if they are practically insignificant. The manufacturer has set the maximum towing capacity at 1,500 pounds, approximately 680 kilograms.
