Ukrainian drones attacked a federal fuel depot belonging to the Federal Reserve Agency of the Russian Government (Rosrezerv) in the middle of the night. After the attack, the "Atlas" refinery in the Rostov region's Kamensky district is on fire. "It was a crazy explosion," say local residents.

The explosion occurred at around 8 a.m. Eastern Time. Residents heard a whistling sound followed by several explosions. "It was a crazy explosion," says one of them in the recording.

Rosrezerv "Atlas" refinery on fire

As reported by the Russian Ministry of National Defence, four drones were shot down over the Rostov region. Governor Vasily Golubev added that no one was killed or injured. However, he noted that "this information is being verified."

Ukrainian drones attacked the Rosrezerv "Atlas" refinery. Independent Russian journalists had already reported that these plants supplied oil products to the Russian army.

Another fire in the region

"In August 2020, joint exercises of the Ministry of National Defense and Rosrezerv took place at the plant as part of the Caucasus-2020 exercises. During the demonstration exercises, three methods of delivering oil products for military needs were tested – by road, rail, and pipeline," Astra determined.

- "Atlas" is on fire again. I'm afraid to sleep - says a local resident.

The last attack on the "Atlas" plants occurred at the beginning of August. The fire was not as extensive then as it is now.

This is the second Rosrezerv refinery to burn in the Rostov region. Firefighters are still battling the fire at the refinery in Protelarsk.
