Protesters chanted, "Shame on You!" prompting Netanyahu to halt his speech shortly after it began.

The event occurred at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in western Jerusalem and was broadcast live nationwide.

Citizens blame the Prime Minister

A significant portion of Israelis blame Netanyahu for the intelligence and military failures before the Hamas attack and for not yet securing the release of hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

In the attack carried out by Hamas on October 7, 2023, approximately 1,200 people were killed, and 251 were kidnapped. In response, Israel launched an offensive in the Gaza Strip, controlled by Hamas. According to local authorities, the hostilities have already resulted in the death of over 42,800 Palestinians.
