Anyone who cares about keeping the house in order dreams of cleanliness and freshness in the toilet. Unfortunately, even with regular cleaning, unpleasant smells from the toilet bowl are not always possible to eliminate.

When you feel something is off and friends are about to visit, there is a simple way to immediately save the situation. Interestingly, you don't have to rush to the store for special air fresheners.

Coffee – not just for your morning pick-me-up

Although coffee is primarily associated with an aromatic beverage that wakes us up, its use can be much broader. Black-ground coffee is an effective and natural way to neutralize bad odours, including those in the toilet. How does it work? Coffee has a distinct aroma that perfectly absorbs and masks unpleasant smells.

Throw a few teaspoons of ground coffee into the toilet. Leave it for about 15 minutes, then flush with water. The coffee will quickly tame any unwanted odours, leaving the bathroom smelling fresh. Moreover, this trick is entirely environmentally friendly and easy on the wallet.

Vinegar and baking soda – a special task force

However, if you don't have coffee, there is still an effective way to tackle bad odours and stains in the toilet. Baking soda and vinegar are a combination that has gained popularity among fans of natural cleaning methods. Both ingredients work perfectly together, creating a mixture that neutralizes odours and effectively cleans surfaces.

Pour 125 millilitres of baking soda into the toilet bowl, then add equal vinegar. This mixture will immediately start reacting – foam will be produced, penetrating the inside of the bowl, eliminating dirt, limescale, and bacteria responsible for bad smells. Allow this mixture to work for several hours, ideally leaving it overnight. In the morning, all you need to do is flush – your toilet will shine clean, and the air will be free of unpleasant odours.
