In 2015, she decided to try her hand behind the camera, debuting as a director with the film "Ithaca." One of the main roles in this film was played by Jack Quaid, known from the series "The Boys," who is her son.

In the film, the actress plays Willa, a woman stuck at an airport due to a snowstorm. There she meets Bill (David Duchovny), her former partner, whom she was with over 20 years ago.
As time goes by, the couple starts reminiscing about their relationship, blaming each other for its failures. For Meg Ryan, it's a return to romantic comedy after a 15-year hiatus.
