Note: Many reports about alleged attacks and aggression from the Ukrainian side, as well as the course of the war provided by Russian and Belarusian state media, are likely not true. These reports may be part of an information warfare campaign by the Russian Federation.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Lavrov, and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone conversation during which they decided to maintain regular contact. The purpose of these actions is to prepare for the upcoming high-level meeting between Russia and the USA. This information was delivered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow.

The Russian ministry's communication emphasized that Lavrov and Rubio expressed their willingness to work together on restoring inter-state dialogue based on mutual respect. Both politicians agreed to maintain communication channels to help resolve issues in Russian-American relations.

International challenges

The Russian Foreign Ministry also noted that both parties are inclined to cooperate on international issues.

The topics discussed included the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East. The American side has not yet issued an official statement about this conversation.

The decision for regular contact between Lavrov and Rubio is an important step towards improving relations between Russia and the USA, which have been tense in recent years.
