Swedish media said the incident occurred Thursday evening at the Bank Hotel in central Stockholm. That evening, Kylian Mbappe visited the Chez Jolie restaurant and the V nightclub before returning to the hotel.
Two days later, an official complaint was filed with the police. A special police unit is investigating, and it was still working at the alleged crime scene on Monday.
As reported by the newspaper Aftonbladet, the alarm was raised when the affected woman went to a local hospital for medical assistance.
Kylian Mbappe, who left Sweden on a private jet from Bromma Airport on Friday, rejected all accusations, describing them as "fake news" through his account on the platform X (formerly Twitter).
It's becoming so predictable, just before the hearing as if by chance - wrote Mbappe, referring to the hearing scheduled for Tuesday at 6 PM ET regarding his dispute with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) over $77 million CAD of unpaid wages and bonuses.
The prosecutor responsible for the case did not want to comment on the accusations, and Stockholm police spokeswoman, Carina Skagerlind, issued a similar statement in an interview with "MailOnline."
The police cannot confirm or deny that such a case is taking place. According to Aftonbladet, no specific individuals have been identified as suspects yet.
Is France angry at Kylian Mbappe?
Meanwhile, the French footballer missed two matches of the French national team in the Nations League due to a hamstring injury, which sparked criticism in his homeland.
Didier Deschamps, the team's coach, stated that he did not select the player due to a lack of full fitness.
The interests of clubs and the interests of national teams necessarily diverge at some point - commented the French national team coach.
Mbappe, the captain of the French national team, has scored 48 goals in 86 appearances and ranks third among the team's most effective players.
