There were numerous explosions in Beirut. The Israeli army admitted to carrying out the assault, which aimed to strike the leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah. "Dozens of people have probably died," said Al Jazeera journalist Ali Hashem.

During the attack by Israel on the southern suburbs of Beirut, several buildings were destroyed, causing extensive damage in this part of the city. Al-Manar TV, owned by Hezbollah, reported that 15 rockets levelled four buildings.

According to media reports, the Israeli army confirmed that the target of the assault was the Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah, highlighting Israel's determination to weaken the influence of this organization in the region.

Al Jazeera journalist Ali Hashem reported that Israel's raid on Beirut's southern suburbs destroyed several buildings, with the likely death toll reaching dozens.

At present, there is no exact information on the number of fatalities or those injured as a result of this tragic event. As reported by Al Jazeera, citing the Lebanese Civil Defence Agency, two bodies were recovered from the rubble of the collapsed buildings.

The attack occurred after Netanyahu's speech

Israeli armed forces spokesman Daniel Hagari earlier said that the military conducted a "precision strike" on Hezbollah's headquarters in the Lebanese capital. The attack occurred shortly after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech at the United Nations General Assembly session in New York, in which he pledged that his country would attack Hezbollah until it achieved its war goals.

According to the Times of Israel website, after Netanyahu's speech, he met with the media but left the press conference early when his press advisor approached him to deliver a message.
