Iran's missile strike on Israel prompts Netanyahu's fierce vow
Iran made a significant mistake today; its missile attack on Israel failed, but Tehran will pay for it, announced Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Iran fired more than 180 ballistic missiles at Israel on Tuesday, most of which were intercepted by air defence.
"The regime in Iran does not understand our determination to defend ourselves and our determination to retaliate against our enemies. They will understand. We will stand by the rule we established: whoever attacks us, we will attack him," Netanyahu emphasized before a security cabinet meeting.
The Prime Minister also called on the world to unite against Iran. "They must stand by Israel. The choice has never been clearer between tyranny and freedom, between blessing and curse," he pointed out.
"Israel is on the move, and the axis of evil is retreating. We will do everything necessary to continue this trend, to achieve all the goals of the war, primarily the return of all our hostages, and to ensure our existence and our future - Netanyahu concluded.
BBC: Israel may strike Iranian military bases
The BBC assessed that in retaliation for Tuesday's missile barrage, Israel may strike Iranian military bases and command centres. They might also activate their agents within Iran and target those responsible for the attack or strike at nuclear installations.
Iran announced that Tuesday's raid was revenge for the killing of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders by Israel and promised further attacks, with instances of armed responses from Israel.
