Innovative bike without wheels: A showcase of creative ingenuity
A Ukrainian engineer from the YouTube platform unveiled an extraordinary bike that bypasses the traditional wheel concept. Does it work? Undoubtedly. But is it practical? Not. Nevertheless, this project will undoubtedly prove interesting for fans of online curiosities.
Sergiy Gordeev, the host of the channel The Q, has gained recognition for his impressive construction skills and virtually unlimited ingenuity. After presenting a bike with square wheels, he decided to go even further by considering the possibility of creating a bike without wheels that would still be functional. He proved that this was possible by making such a model.
Gordeev transformed a standard bike by removing the wheels and replacing them with a track mechanism akin to those used in tanks and construction machinery.
The modified bike does not have wheels but allows for riding. Tests showed that it moves slowly and is noisy, but it can be used—at least on a smooth and evenly laid surface—without the need for turning.
Reinventing the wheel. But why?
The Q's construction is not intended to replace traditional bikes, and that was never its purpose. It focuses more on showcasing creative ingenuity rather than practical application.
A summarizing comment found among the opinions under the YouTube video stated that a means of transportation has been created offering a speed comparable to walking but requiring significantly more effort. The creator knows this project doesn't make much sense, but as he explained, its realization was a form of entertainment.
