Paving stones can be an attractive and relatively easy-to-maintain element in our yards. How do you care for them so that, in addition to weeds, you don't end up with green deposits?

Paving stones have many uses, such as creating walkways leading to the gate or driveways to the garage. These stones must be properly cared for to prevent cracking and green deposits.

We should take action as soon as we notice the first signs of deterioration. How do you go about properly cleaning the paving stones? Some methods can deal with dirt quickly and effectively.

How to clean paving stones? There's no better way

We must regularly pull out weeds that grow between the stones to prevent green deposits from forming. Every garden store has tools to help us remove unwanted plants and their roots.

A special brush or garden washer can be helpful for thoroughly cleaning already dirty stones. High-pressure water quickly removes green deposits from moss or algae. However, store-bought products will be necessary if we do not have a washer. Alternatively, you can prepare a cleaning solution yourself.

All you need to do is mix water with vinegar in a 2:1 ratio. Then, spray the solution onto the stones on a sunny day and thoroughly clean them with a brush.

Gardeners also suggest that a gas burner can be helpful in removing green deposits. Weeds or moss dry out, fall off, and are not problematic to remove.

What can you do to reduce the risk of mossy deposits? It's worth paying attention to how professionals lay the stones. If they are correctly matched to the ground, precisely laid, and care is taken with slopes, there is less likelihood of problems with moss, weeds, and algae.

Also, familiarize yourself with the characteristics of specific paving stones available on the market. The better the quality, the more resistant the paving will be to all kinds of damage and the effects on plants.
