Nuts and oatmeal crumble make up half of a perfect dessert. In this cake, or more precisely, crumble, I hide autumn fruits underneath. I opt for apples, occasionally substituting with pears. It's a quick and simple recipe.

Crumble, a cake without a base, is a delectable oven option. Its original form is made with a buttery, classic crumble. However, swap wheat flour for oatmeal if you're counting calories and want to try a lighter version. Add some nuts, and you'll have a fit-style dessert in no time.

What to bake crumble in?

For this oven dessert, a heat-resistant dish is ideal. It doesn't need to be lined with baking paper. The main advantage of heat-resistant dishes is their ease and convenience of use. You can prepare healthy and delicious meals in them and store leftovers without transferring them to other containers. They withstand high temperatures, allowing for baking, roasting, and even braising dishes for extended periods. Thanks to their transparent walls, you can easily monitor the cooking process and also serve dishes aesthetically straight to the table.

Recipe for crumble with oatmeal crumble

The basic set of ingredients includes oatmeal, butter, and a sweetener. You can replace sugar with maple syrup or honey. You can partially blend the oatmeal, but not into a perfect powder. The butter should be chilled but not too hard so it's easy to combine everything.

Ingredients:

  • About 200 grams of oatmeal,
  • About 100 grams of butter,
  • About 85 grams of brown sugar,
  • About 55 grams of peeled walnuts,
  • About 800 grams of apples or apples and pears.

Preparation:

  1. In a bowl, combine oatmeal with butter and sugar.
  2. Peel the fruits and cut them into larger pieces.
  3. Grease the dish with butter (it's best to use the butter wrapper, which is worth keeping in the freezer).
  4. Preheat the oven to 185°C.
  5. Arrange the fruits, cover with oatmeal crumble.
  6. Chop the nuts and scatter on top.
  7. Place the dish in the oven and bake for about 35 minutes.
  8. Serve the crumble with oatmeal crumble hot.
