Google is diligently developing the next smartphone generation, the first images of which, so far of the highest quality, have just surfaced online. The Rozetked service released a new series of visuals, revealing three models. According to leaks, they are expected to launch as Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL.
The Google flagships will feature screens with different sizes:
- Pixel 9 - about 6.2 inches
- Pixel 9 Pro - about 6.3 inches
- Pixel 9 Pro XL - about 6.7 inches.
Despite the variation in screen sizes, the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro are expected to have similar, if not identical, case dimensions. This may be achieved by utilizing slightly narrower bezels in the pricier model. All three smartphones are to come equipped with an AMOLED screen boasting a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
A notable change is the redesign of the camera module, which now doesn't span the entire phone width, as seen with the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. The new models feature a flat rear panel and screen, moving away from the previous generation's rounded edges to adopt flat side edges.
Earlier rumours also hinted at a foldable smartphone joining the lineup, potentially named the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The full reveal of the new models is anticipated to occur in October, though initial details might emerge as soon as May 14 during the Google I/O 2024 conference, which would be around 11 AM EST.
