In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Iraq, Egypt, and Jordan condemned the "Israeli assault on Lebanon" and warned of the escalation of conflict in the Middle East. The document was published following a meeting of the diplomats on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The ministers expressed their concerns about the "ongoing dangerous escalation" in the region. In the statement, they emphasized that "dangerous escalation under way in the region ... begins by halting Israel's aggression in Gaza."

Criticism of Israel emerged in connection with the intensification of military actions. In the past week, Israel carried out the heaviest strikes of this war, targeting leaders of the Shiite terrorist organization Hezbollah and hundreds of targets in Lebanon.

Escalation in the region

As a result of these airstrikes, over 500 people were killed, and more than 1,800 were injured. Among the victims was a high-ranking Hezbollah commander, Ibrahim Kubaisi, who was killed on Tuesday in an Israeli attack on a suburb of Beirut.

Hezbollah is not staying idle. The organization has been launching attacks from Lebanon on Israel for the past three days. On Wednesday, Hezbollah announced that it fired a rocket at Mossad headquarters near Tel Aviv. According to the Israeli army, the missile was intercepted, marking the first time Hezbollah had attacked Tel Aviv with a rocket.

Israel is dragging the entire Middle East region "into a war," warned the foreign ministers of Iraq, Egypt, and Jordan in their statement.
