Using chemical agents should always be the last resort. Their use can harm not just the soil but also our plants. That's why homemade remedies are preferable to our garden woes, which won't break the bank.

Grubs can devastate crops

Discovering the presence of grubs in the garden is incredibly simple. You need a spade to dig up some soil where your plants have started to look less than their best.

If you notice white, distinctive larvae in the soil, you can be confident that grubs have taken up residence on your property. Sadly, they munch on the roots of plants and grass, leading to the plants draining out and, in some cases, even dying.

Grubs often appear in gardens in April and May, making it crucial to eliminate them quickly. Doing so allows us to continue to cherish the plants we care so much about.

How to eliminate grubs?

It might appear that getting rid of grubs from the garden is daunting. After all, they feed underground, making them quite elusive. However, that’s not exactly the case.

In this situation, it is advisable to attempt a homemade grub solution. You’ll need three cloves of garlic, paraffin, readily available in most pharmacies or online, and about 1.2 litres of water.

The garlic should be peeled, crushed, and pressed through a garlic press, then mixed with 1.5 tablespoons of paraffin. This mixture should be chilled in the refrigerator for 12 hours. Afterward, dissolve the cooled mixture in water and transfer it to a spray bottle to spray the affected area conveniently.
