High temperatures cause grease and food residues to burn and settle on the oven walls. This results in stubborn stains that not only affect the appliance's appearance but also reduce its efficiency and can alter the taste of your dishes.

A dishwasher tablet works wonders

There are two methods using a dishwasher tablet to tackle oven grime. For the first method, you'll only need a tablet, water, an oven-safe dish, and a cloth. Here's how to do it:

Fill the oven-safe dish with water and drop in the dishwasher tablet. Then, place it inside an oven preheated to about 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes. The steam from the hot solution will soften the dirt, making it easier to remove. The stains will practically slide off the walls, and you can wipe up the residue with a damp cloth.

The second method involves using a dishwasher tablet and a paper towel. Here's the process: Place the tablet in a bowl and pour hot water over it. Once dissolved, use a sponge to apply the solution to the inside of the oven.

Next, soak sheets of paper towel in the solution and press them against all the walls for 30 minutes. After that time, remove the paper and wipe away any remaining residue with a damp cloth. Your oven will look like new!

Steam with citrus is equally effective

If you prefer more natural solutions, cleaning the oven with steam and a splash of citrus juice can be a great alternative. This method not only effectively removes stubborn stains but also leaves a pleasant scent in the kitchen.

Begin the process by placing an oven-safe dish filled with water and the juice from half a lemon or orange in the oven. Set the temperature to about 200 degrees Celsius and leave the dish inside for about 30 minutes. After this time, turn off the oven and let it cool down a bit.

The steam will loosen the dirt, making it easier to wipe away later. Once the oven cools, clean the grease and grime with a damp cloth or paper kitchen towel. It doesn't get any easier than that.
