"Deadpool & Wolverine" is this summer's box office hit. "No one probably doubted why another movie was being made, and the cast list is consistently growing. Setting aside the cynicism – yes, you will probably have a lot of fun and react vividly to the more and less hidden jokes," you could read in our review. The film, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, has grossed $577.2 million in North America and $1.21 billion worldwide, becoming one of Marvel's biggest hits.
Deleted scene from "Deadpool & Wolverine"
Rob Delaney had previously appeared in the Deadpool universe. He had to also feature in the latest installment of the pathological superhero's adventures. Viewers loved his character Peter and the entire production, about which interesting tidbits still pop up online.
This time, scenes that did not make it to the final cut were brought to the forefront. Rob Delaney posted a short video on his Instagram profile. It shows a moment when Deadpool and Wolverine appear on Earth-100005 and meet Peter, who proudly shows them his three nipples. You can see the deleted scene below.
The film is packed with surprises for Marvel fans. Several other well-known characters make appearances. Wesley Snipes and Jennifer Garner make brief returns. Even Henry Cavill had his moment, playing one of the alternate versions of Wolverine. There wasn’t enough screen time – as it turns out – not only for Delaney's scene but also for Rob McElhenney's.
According to TMZ, although McElhenney shot a scene for the film, the creators couldn’t fit it into the final version. The issues with fitting the scene weren't due to any errors from the actor's side.
Reynolds explained that the decision to cut McElhenney's scene was not easy, especially since the actor showed considerable dedication by arriving specially on set in London. Despite the impressive intensity Rob brought to his performance, the writers couldn’t find a suitable spot for his scene in the film. Revealing the fate of Rob's character, Reynolds admitted that the character did not meet a heroic end – he was eaten by a giant creature and eventually excreted.
McElhenney humorously approached the situation, sharing a photo with Hugh Jackman on set, joking that his scene must have been cut by mistake. The actor travelled 6,000 kilometers to film his cameo.
