Malaysian media reported on the tragedy that happened on Friday, September 27, in the state of Sarawak. A family relaxing by the water was targeted by a giant crocodile. The crocodile attacked six-year-old Cecelia, who suddenly vanished under the water.
Her grandfather and sister were present and witnessed the horrific event. Sadly, despite the grandfather’s rapid response, the tragedy was unavoidable. Emergency services were summoned, and a search for the crocodile commenced.
Experts from the Sarawak Forestry Corporation conducted a river search, which led to the capture of two large crocodiles. The reptiles were so massive that cranes and tow trucks were required to extract them from the water.

The captured reptiles were examined, and one was initially identified as the likely perpetrator of the young girl's tragic death. Human teeth and bones found within the enormous crocodile were thought to belong to the missing Cecelia.
This is not the first time crocodiles have been linked to human fatalities. Just a month ago, a similar event occurred in Indonesia when a reptile attacked a 54-year-old woman. According to a witness, only her legs were visible as she was pulled underwater.
