Heatwaves can be tricky. Not everyone can afford air conditioning at home. However, there is one trick that will make your apartment pleasantly cool. It will cost you no more than CAD 2.25.

Everything indicates that we are in for a record-breaking warm summer. In some regions of Poland, temperatures exceed even 35°C in the shade. Air conditioning seems to be the only solution, but not everyone can afford it.

How to lower the temperature at home? Discover the trick that will make your apartment pleasantly cool. You only need one thing, which you can buy at any pharmacy.

An alternative to air conditioning

Many people dream of air conditioning, but it is quite an expensive investment. The device costs from $150 CAD to several thousand dollars. So, it's no wonder that many people opt to buy a fan. You can buy one at any electronics store and, seasonally, even at the supermarket. Depending on the model, you will spend from $30 to $120 CAD.

Stick it to the window. The room will get cooler immediately

It turns out there is an even cheaper way that everyone can afford. You only need one thing—a thermal blanket. You can buy it at any pharmacy and spend no more than CAD 2.25.

To install it, first, you need to measure the windows accurately, then transfer these measurements to the blanket and cut out the right piece. After preparing the material, please attach it to the window with the silver side facing outwards. Then, secure the blanket to the window frame using painter's tape, which won't leave marks on the glass. Thanks to the silver surface reflecting the sun's rays, the apartment won't heat up as much.

If you want to maintain a pleasantly cool temperature in your apartment, remember to draw all blinds and curtains before going to work. If possible, invest in blackout curtains, which can be found in most home goods stores.
