Lemon water is quite popular, but it's not the only option for a quick hot drink. You can also use a spice likely residing in your kitchen cupboard. Known for its warming qualities, it boasts several other advantages. In Eastern countries, it's a staple in the kitchen; we more often associate it with baking and desserts.

What this spice contains

Why consider drinking water with cinnamon? This spice is not only a delicious addition to meals but also addresses various health issues effectively. It aids in combating acne, cellulite, and reducing body fat. It contains anti-cancer properties and delays the onset of numerous diseases. Cinnamon also provides many vitamins like A, E, and K, as well as minerals such as iron, potassium, and magnesium.

Here's why drinking water with cinnamon is beneficial:

  • lowers blood sugar levels,
  • stimulates fat burning, which aids in weight loss, especially when combined with exercise,
  • curbs appetite with its intense, spicy flavour and zero calories,
  • quenches thirst while warming the body at the same time,

How to prepare cinnamon water?

To make cinnamon water, simply place a large piece of cinnamon bark in a glass of water and leave it in the fridge overnight. In the morning, you'll have a refreshing drink ready. Alternatively, add a few pieces of bark to a one-litre pitcher, fill it with water, and leave it in the fridge overnight. You can also boil cinnamon with water, maintaining a ratio of one piece of bark for each glass of water. You might add ginger, cloves, or turmeric with a pinch of pepper. Once cooled, the drink can be diluted with mineral water. This type of water is truly a health powerhouse!
