As it turns out, both of these problems can be solved at once in a very simple way. You don't even have to go shopping or spend extra money on an effective agent. The ready solution is waiting for you in the kitchen, so don't delay and test it in your home as soon as possible.

A floor cleaning trick from my mom

I love all sorts of tricks that make daily life easier, and I have often found that the kitchen holds many simple and inexpensive solutions that not only speed up and facilitate cooking but can also help with cleaning.

Recently, a new method made it onto my list of tried-and-true lifehacks. My mom uses it, and I have to admit, it's worth remembering because it solves several problems at once. My mom adds a bit of cinnamon to the floor-cleaning water in addition to the detergent. She does this for specific reasons, and the effects she achieves are truly satisfying.

Cinnamon for cleaning floors. How does it work?

I'll start by explaining how to prepare the homemade cleaning mixture. The simplest and quickest method involves adding ½ level teaspoon (about 2.5 ml) of cinnamon to the detergent water. After thoroughly mixing the ingredients, just clean the floors, and you're done. Another method involves using a few drops of cinnamon oil. You can also make a homemade decoction from whole cinnamon sticks. In this case, boil 2-3 cinnamon sticks in about 1.5 litres of water for 15 minutes. After this time, pour the ready mixture into a bucket with water and detergent. Finally, all that's left is to clean the floors.

It really doesn't take much to prepare a homemade floor cleaner. Now it's time to discover its biggest advantages. Firstly, the cinnamon addition will ensure no streaks on cleaned floors — they will shine with impeccable cleanliness every time. Secondly, the smell of cinnamon effectively repels insects such as ants, flies, and mosquitoes. And since none of us like uninvited guests, this bonus will surely be welcomed with great joy. Thirdly, cinnamon has antibacterial properties. Moreover, the scent of cinnamon is very pleasant. It will make the whole house smell wonderful.

It's important to remember not to overdo the amount of spice. Also, it's a good idea to test the mixture on a small area to ensure it is 100% safe for your floors.
