A 24-year-old woman from China died after a 10-hour broadcast. The streamer ate over 10 kilograms of food. The results of the autopsy are already known.

The desire to gain popularity can end tragically. A woman from China, Pan Xiaoting, learned this the hard way as she died in front of viewers. It was all due to overeating.

The internet has seen a rise in the popularity of Mukbang broadcasts, which involve eating huge amounts of unhealthy food in front of a camera. 24-year-old Pan Xiaoting broadcast for over 10 hours, during which time she consumed over 10 kilograms of food. She had engaged in similar practices before, which, disturbingly, only encouraged viewers to follow her actions. Unfortunately, on July 14, her body couldn't take it anymore.

Streamer died from overeating

Pan Xiaoting died on July 14 of this year during a broadcast. According to the Daily Mail, the cause of death was overeating, and autopsy results showed a deformed and ruptured stomach, which was the direct cause of her death. The streamer ate over 10 kilograms of food, which could not be digested. Interestingly, she had previously been hospitalized due to stomach bleeding caused by overeating but was discharged after a few days and returned to streaming.

Overeating in front of the camera has become such a significant problem in China that in 2020, the country imposed a ban on publishing this type of content. Violating this ban can result in a fine of up to 10,000 yuan, translating to over 1,800 Canadian dollars.
