Canadian passenger subdued mid‑flight with duct tape

An American Airlines flight to Dallas experienced a dangerous incident. A Canadian passenger tried to exit the plane mid-flight. The man asked a flight attendant to open the door, and when refused, he became aggressive.
Observing the man's aggressive behaviour, passengers decided to intervene. With the assistance of the crew, they used duct tape to subdue the unruly traveller. The man was restrained and spent the rest of the flight lying down.
Upon landing in Dallas, the passenger was handed over to medical services. The flight attendant who tried to restrain the man suffered wrist and neck injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Investigation into the incident
The Federal Aviation Administration has launched an investigation into the matter. No arrests have been made yet, but American Airlines is cooperating with authorities to clarify the circumstances of the event.
An American Airlines spokesperson emphasized that the safety of passengers and crew is a priority. "The safety and security of our customers and team members is our top priority and we thank our team members and customers for managing a difficult situation", they stated in a release.
