When Quezia Romualdo became pregnant several months ago, she probably did not expect what was soon to come.
Originally from Brazil, Quezia Romualdo and her husband, Magdiel Costa, decided to expand their family last spring. The couple wanted their five-year-old daughter to have siblings. They were successful, and Quezia became pregnant. Over time, it turned out that this would be a world-class birth, as the couple was expecting not one or two but six children.
The woman gave birth to six children in just ten minutes
In October last year, Quezia Romualdo was admitted to São Bernardo Apart Hospital in Colatina, where Theo, Matteo, Lucca, Henry, Maytê, and Eloá were born. She delivered all the children in just 10 minutes. For the safety of both the mother and her babies, a cesarean section was necessary, which was performed in the 27th week of pregnancy. Magdiel Costa, as a proud father, shared the joyful news on social media. It is thanks to him that we know that 32 specialists worked at the birth of the sextuplets, and the babies had to stay in the hospital to gain weight.
Yesterday, we witnessed the exciting birth of sextuplets in the NICU of São Bernardo Apart Hospital. Theo, Matteo, Lucca, Henry, Maytê, and Eloá came into the world with various weights; the largest baby was born weighing 1.03 kg and the smallest 635 grams, while the others had weights above 800 grams. An incredible team of 32 professionals, including pediatric neonatology specialists, surgeons, nurses, and anesthetists, came together to ensure the best possible care for the babies, and everything went smoothly. - reads a post on Facebook.
Unfortunately, the family's happiness did not last long. Two of the babies did not survive. A few weeks after the birth, Magdiel Costa revealed in a Facebook post that Theo and his brother Mateo had died.
