Potatoes are some of the most universal and widely respected vegetables. The farm owned by Kristie Wolfe in Boise, United States, offers an unusual attraction for all lovers of baby potatoes with dill, French fries, and mashed potatoes. You can stay inside a 6,000-kilogram potato.
Accommodation inside a 6,000-kilogram potato
The Big Idaho Potato Hotel is an Airbnb on a farm, created inside a giant potato (unfortunately, it is not real). The big spud is made of steel, plaster, and concrete. Initially, it was transported on a truck trailer that visited 48 states in the USA to promote awareness of Idaho's most famous vegetable.
The tour was supposed to last only a year, but it ultimately took seven years. When it finally ended, the big potato was transformed into a very unique place to stay. It was "planted" in a field in southern Boise with a breathtaking view of the Owyhee Mountains. The interior was designed by Kristie Wolfe, who specializes in building "micro-homes".
Big Idaho Potato Hotel has excellent reviews
Inside is a double bed, a rustic antler chandelier, two pink chairs, bookshelves, a small sink, a mini-fridge, and a record player. The interior is stylish, looks very comfortable, and is eco-friendly. It is even equipped with electrical outlets, allowing you to use all devices inside the potato.
Outside, there is a silo that has been converted into a mini spa, complete with a bathtub that allows you to "soak and stargaze" at the same time. The Big Idaho Potato Hotel also features the sweetest Jersey cow that will be your personal pet during your stay. Her name is Dolly.
Staying at the Big Idaho Potato Hotel is not the cheapest. It costs $262 per night. However, reviews on Airbnb with a rating of 4.9 indicate that it might be worth the price. One of the five-star reviews reads: "We had a wonderful night at the Potato Hotel. It is such a fun, charmingly quirky space, and we really appreciated all the thoughtful touches inside. It is cozy and well-equipped".
