Benji Gregory, who played Brian Tanner in all four seasons of the series ALF from 1986 to 1990, died on June 13 at the age of 46.
The actor was found dead in his car along with his guide dog Hans in a parking lot in Peoria, Arizona.
As his sister Rebecca told the media, Gregory suffered from depression and bipolar disorder and had sleep disorders, which often prevented him from sleeping for several days.
What was the cause of his death? The family believes that he went to the bank to deposit a cheque but fell asleep in the car and died due to a heat stroke caused by rising summer temperatures. His dog also could not be saved.
Benji often shared photos of Hans on his Instagram, where he revealed on his profile that he suffered from bipolar disorder and major depression.
The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office has not yet determined the cause of death.
