A heatwave is when the temperature outside exceeds 30 degrees Celsius. The swelter only eases late in the evening. During this time, the house's walls heat up so much that the temperature inside the apartment is high, making it difficult to fall asleep.

What to do to fall asleep in the heat? Discover the method of falling asleep used by the Japanese for years. A small change in the bedroom will make a hot night bearable.

How to fall asleep when it's hot in the bedroom?

Heatwaves can be troublesome. The intense sun heats the air and the walls, affecting the apartment's temperature. Falling asleep in such weather is brutal. It's no wonder many people buy air conditioning or a fan. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford it.

However, there is another way that the Japanese have been using for years. They sleep on futons, which are soft and comfortable mattresses. They are not placed on a bed frame but directly on the floor. That's where the lowest temperature is because warm air rises.

If you want to make falling asleep easier, put the mattress on the floor. The difference will be noticeable right away. Want to enhance this effect? Before going to bed, wash the floor with cold water. After a while, a pleasant coolness will prevail in the room.

How to lower the temperature in the bedroom?

The optimal temperature in the bedroom is between 16 and 20 degrees Celsius. During a heatwave, it rises even to 25 degrees, which makes falling asleep significantly harder. How to lower the temperature in the room? Do not open the windows in the bedroom all day. Do it only late in the evening when the air is no longer so hot.

Invest in curtains or blinds that do not let the sun's rays pass through. You can buy them in most interior design stores. This way, the room will not heat up as much and will be cool in the bedroom.
